How wonderful (and weird)! Without violence or tear gas, women and children changed the world!

Not a phone in sight. Just kids living in the moment and actually talking and playing together. A vital stage in life that has been lost forever.

Why aren't the BBC making programmes like this today? The charter AFAIK specifies that the BBC is required to inform and to educate. Programs like Man Alive did this and I remember watching it in the 70s and it was exceptional viewing. This is a good example. Instead we now have the game shows, soaps, competitive cooking and dancing and lots of other stuff that is NOT in any way designed to inform and educate. Such a shame. Such a waste. And they still want me to pay a licence fee. If the BBC wants to survive it needs to start making programmes like this again.

I wrote to my MP a few years ago.... he actually replied.... the gist of his reply was.... "Sorry, not interested, I work for The Conservative Party, not my constituents".... I think that says it all.
