Looking back on it, one of the reasons I like Sora more than Riku is because I relate to him more. Especially when you take his inferiority complex in mind. It plays so well into the prologue of this game going into much later into the series.

From the perspective of Sora, beating Riku and knocking him down a beg was us trying to prove to Kairi and ourselves that we can be just as cool as Riku, if not cooler.

But in reality, Kairi always valued Sora just the way he was. That’s why she says to Sora to “not change.” Sora, as a person, is enough for her.

At the end of the day, he was one to save Kairi by giving his life for her. The measure of a person or a hero is not determined by the Keyblade. It’s determined by the strength of his heart.

R.I.P. Hayden Panettiere

1:07:16 there is a flashback where Kid Riku saw the Keyhole on the Door in the hidden area of Destiny Island. Something Sora didn’t see.
