you might not see this, considering how old the video is, but as an acrylic painter, I suspect you may have added too much water to your black wash. Acrylic paint can be mixed with water, but if you add too much there's not enough paint for it to polymerize as it dries and it won't cure right. You can fix this by adding mediums to thin instead of so much water (matte medium and flow medium will thin it without making it too thin to cure). You can still use water, just use some kind of medium as well if you find yourself thinning it too much.

very cool! I like the use of the frogs and bugs as decoration instead of something more literal with them. Adds that extra bit of character.
