Reminds me of that Heraclitus quote "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man"

I lost my best friend of 35 years in 2020, he was 50 years old, only 2 years younger than me at the time. It was sudden and very unexpected, but watching this video really did comfort me. All the good times we had are still there, he is still on my timeline and always will be. I miss him so much... I am now 58 and he has been gone 6 years. As you said, my own death has already happened, it is on my timeline. I didn't want to live in a world without his friendship, but my timeline and his separated. Thank you, really great topic!

The clock ticks loud in empty rooms,
To count a ghost that never stays,
Arranging lines of phantom looms
To weave the fabric of our days.
We build a "now" of shifts and sands,
A fragile, shared, and fleeting place,
And hold it in our trembling hands,
Forgetting we are holding space.
The reel is whole, the film is cast,
The final frame is burning bright;
There is no future and no past
Within the wide, unbroken light.
You do not wait for time to cease,
Nor watch the ticking gears unspool
You are the quietness, the peace,
That holds the entire movie pool.

Nothing better than watching a video that breaks my brain before I start my day.

When I was first working on my residency hours in an inpatient psychiatric hospital I had a patient who suffered a brain lesion in the areas of his brain related to perception of time.

He was riding his bike without a helmet, and his fishing poll fell between the spokes on his way to his favorite fishing spot.

He described to me a truly horrifying experience of time. "My life is on fast forward, I can't stop it." He described to me that clocks seemed to be moving very quickly, the television and everyone else seemed to be moving extremely quickly around him, and other descriptions related to living "in fast forward".

No treatment really worked for him, and the med team settled on heavy sedation and a hope the brain would heal over time.

Ever since that experience I always wondered, what if we could access that ability to slow down / speed up time at will.

When I first found your channel, I listened to get to sleep. Now your videos have a tendency to keep me awake. 😂

A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

Now take this and read passages from Bhagavadgita where Krsna allows Arjuna to see his true form (visvarupa) and tells stunned Arjuna that the fighters he is watching on the battlefield are already dead. Completely overwhelmed Arjuna cannot stand the vision and immediately asks Krsna to end it. Becuase what he saw was time as a block - all moments at once seen from another angle of non-paralell time axis of a second time dimension in which Krsna exists.

"There is nothing but the moment, don't you waste it on regret." TTWS. Great video!

Brilliant. An advert break worth paying attention to. Thanks, I'll certainly take a look at that.

Time is the necessary dimension for the transfer of energy. Things can exist in three dimensions but we use time to measure their interactions.
