  Dying slowly in a hospital alone is terrifying. Slowly starving to death in a famine in terrifying. Being slowly tortured to death is terrifying. Everyone dying at once with no pain and no one to experience loss is the best possible outcome.

  Personally, if something like this did happen, it’d be a merciful way to go. Potentially no pain, no fear prior to the event, just…gone. I’d imagine that&apos;s better than seeing it coming.

  That&apos;s one of the nicest &quot;ends&quot; imaginable. If the universe (or the human civilization) has to end, I vastly prefer that to happen, compared to all the alternatives. <br><br>As I think of it, if I knew that I personally would die by suddenly disappearing from existence, and not slow decay from old age or disease, it would not change my life in any way, except for making me much happier.

  There is absolutely nothing which is terrifying about this. To me it seems like the most ideal way to go. We all get to go out at once and nobody suffers.

  The terrifying beauty of metastability is that our entire structural reality operates on a knife&apos;s edge. We spend generations building complex grids and permanent systems, ignoring the fact that the underlying foundation could rewrite its baseline in a fraction of a second. Ultimate proof that existence is just a temporary loop waiting for a hard reset.

  Dying a slow decay would be far worse than dying instantly. There&apos;s nothing to fear about an instant death of the universe, because it would simply be over in an instant.

  Most experiments today suggest stabilizing factors in the vacuum and there is also that wonderful turnover aspect where by hitting the maximal minimum, similar to when you try to get to absolute zero and people try to go beyond you end up with heat that would reboot the universe. &nbsp;Given the age of the universe and given what is known a false vacuum decay is statistically one of those things one should not worry about or consider as a likely outcome.
