Crazy to think our sun has a gravitational influence of 2 light years. Powerfully stuff.

Craziest fact I've heard about when milky way and Andromeda collide is that not one star will come even close to eachother for a possible collision 😮

The truth about our size in the universe can be quite unsettling when you really stop to think about it. In the vastness of space, Earth is just a tiny speck, almost invisible compared to the enormous size of stars, galaxies, and the vast cosmic structures that surround us. Even our entire solar system is minuscule in comparison to the scale of the universe. It’s a humbling reminder of how small we really are, but also how much there is yet to explore and understand. The universe, in all its vastness, challenges our place in it, but it also ignites the curiosity to continue seeking answers.

Just proves the age old belief, size doesn't matter

Wow! To understand that because we’re inside the Milky Way galaxy we can’t see beyond the heavy overlay of its stars. So we only see faint smudges of light? Yet, astronomers have determined our galaxy to be a spiral structure. Perhaps determined through a 360 degree breakdown of distances of the outer band of stars? Where, between the long and short of it, shows a spiral extension? Well, I don’t really know, but the amazing ability of modern telescopes plus using spectroscopy must be the way of making those determinations? Which have also been used to look back to the earliest stars to determine the age of the universe? But, because they know the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light owing to dark matter, there’s also a region beyond the observable universe that will remain forever hidden?

The inhabitants of earth do not need to be a "space fairing" species. We can become an earth fairing species, meaning there is enough challenges right in our own back yard. Two points I should make here: our population is or has reached maximum capacity and food production is rapidly becoming controlled by corporate entities where only wealthiest people can afford to live and be healthy. <br>My second point is that humans can't colonize other planets or galaxies because of physical limitations. We have too short of life spans to travel light year distances. Aliens coming to our insignificant planet have the same problem.

Just think since there's no such thing as time. How many times has this happened across time?

This feels less like a science documentary and more like existential propaganda wrapped in a calming voice. The whole ‘you can never reach it, most of the universe is forever out of your grasp’ narrative isn’t just informative—it subtly pushes a worldview where curiosity hits a wall and ambition becomes meaningless. Beautiful visuals, sure, but the message underneath is kind of defeatist if you actually think about it.

A little bit of water, and information pops up and decides to assemble itself into a DNA code so that molecular machines can read and understand and carry out its instructions. Just a little bit of magical water. Nice idea but it demands too much gullibility.

Why should we, as human civilization, bother going to Andromeda when we don't even fully understand our own solar system, much less our Milky Way Galaxy?!? Don't we have so much to discover just in our own galaxy?!? And it seems that the theory of the expanding universe is no longer correct; the opposite is actually happening... When humanity has the power of gravity in its hands, everything will change completely regarding travel in the universe... And finally, human civilization is not just 10,000 years old, but 20 times older, and this also shows us that we are very technologically behind... Be happy🍷🍷✌️✌️✌️🙂🙂🙂
