Well done! I know you are sponsored by WD40, but if you really get stuck and need an outstanding penatrant, 50/50 Acetone/ATF works like black magic!

Really nice. When I moved into my house out in the shop was a cast iron workbench on which was a complete Prentiss No. 22 in really good shape- except it doesn’t like to retract. I restored the bench on my channel and the vise will come later once I’ve got my machines hooked to power - in case I need to make a part. In fact the reason I found your channel was by searching Prentiss 22. I was sold on subscribing when you used a jack to get the pin out 😂

Found one of the last Record vises made in England before Irwin sourced them from Asia. Immediately restored the finish and love seeing it everyday.

Outstanding video. By coincidence, my first vise restoration effort several years ago was a Parker 272, a swivel base/swivel jaw vise that looks pretty much identical to yours. I have just very basic tools in my home garage to work with. I did not attempt to remove the jaw pins as the jaws are in pretty good condition. The real challenge was getting the frozen swivel jaw to rotate. I ended up using a brass hammer on it with success after about an hour of pounding and swearing. This vise is a treasure.Your step by step restoration documented in this video is exceptionally good.

Excellent work bringing it back to life! I have a similar job to do on a 60 year old Wilton. Great tutorial on the work!

I have a Parker that is missing a few parts but I agree about the jaw pins; they are a torture to remove! You mentioned there are a couple of companies that make replacements but I didn't see a link or referrence to them below. Thanks.
