  she stole beck’s inheritance. now that beck needs it more than ever, amber still won’t pay her. amber makes a point of saying it when she pays for something —like destiny’s cell.

  I find Amber incredibly fascinating in her use of language, because she doesn&apos;t seem to believe that words (when she says them) have any effect, meaning, or consequences. She lies, she tells the truth, she makes up stories, she makes up words, she just talks and talks and talks, and some of it means things and some of it doesn&apos;t, and because it&apos;s all basically a meaningless tool in her small arsenal of tools she uses to obtain the limited number of things she desires (food, being taken care of, love, a positive impression of her from others) and thus is pretty much neutral, and can be hand-waved away with another barrage of words.<br><br>Words coming from other people, however, are FRAUGHT with meaning to Amber. Every single sentence is literal. Every single promise is meant. Every lie is a knife, every compliment is true, every angry word is abuse. <br><br>Just fascinating.
