  I’ve followed amber since 2019 and have never once watched her channel. I found Zach and the rest is history. In a way I think Zach is the reason she is where she is with success on YouTube.

  Nothing she did in 2019 was “trolling”. She was dead serious and thought she was really saying things the entire time and doesn’t want to admit it in retrospect because she knows now how idiotic she was (is).

  As a therapist who works with patients diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, I find it deeply telling that Amberlynn often insists she’s not “choosing” to stay at her current weight, as if that alone exempts her from personal responsibility. To me, this is a strong indication that she is not currently in treatment with a qualified mental health professional for BPD, despite what she claims.<br><br>One of the most fundamental aspects of good BPD treatment (whether DBT or any other evidence-based approach) is guiding the individual to take ownership of their actions and choices. <br><br>Yes, almost every person with BPD has a painful history. Yes, those experiences can explain why the disorder developed in the first place. But explanations are not excuses. Personality disorders, in essence, are long-standing patterns of difficulty in how someone relates to themselves and others. And sustainable healing begins when the person starts to see those patterns not as some detached, uncontrollable force, but as something they can understand and ultimately influence.<br><br>When someone starts using a mental health diagnosis to justify behavior, rather than explore and challenge it, it removes the foundation for change. It becomes an externalized narrative: “This isn’t me, it’s just my disorder acting up.” That framing is not only inaccurate, but it actively blocks progress, because it gives the person no reason to try. If your disorder is in charge, then what’s the point of fighting it?<br><br>So yes, Amberlynn’s public statements and behavior strongly reinforce the suspicion many in this community have had for a while: that her “BPD diagnosis” is likely self-given or, at the very least, not grounded in any meaningful therapeutic work with a trained clinician. And it certainly doesn’t seem like she’s engaged in a structured, goal-oriented treatment process, because if she were, the way she talks about responsibility and change would look very different.
