Ridiculous. They don't hate each other but there is a logical rivalry between the two.

Evenepoel en Van Aert do not hate each other. It how the race unfolds which wil decide who wins. Probably the climbers will go hard on the climbs, and it will be to difficult for Mathieu VDP and WVA to follow Seixas, Del Toro and Evenepoel, in this case Evenepoel is the fastest sprinter of the three. If Wout can hold contact with the climber on the last climb, he will become WC. Evenepoel and Van Aert enjoy riding in a different context of the professional teams.

They don't hate each other, and actually, there is synergy between their strengths and battle plans. Evenepoel goes from distance, other teams than Belgium need to spend energy to chase. If they do not catch him he wins. If they catch him, the Belgian team and Van Aert have saved energy and have better chances of winning.

Good video, but at 1:45 that is not Mads Pedersen...

I've never gotten the impression that Evenepoel and Van Aert hate each other.

They don't hate each other, at least I don't think they do.
But Evenepoel does consider himself a few classes above Wout van Aert and refuses at every turn to work for him. And I doubt if he respects him. I think he may be jealous/salty that Wout is more beloved than he is.
It's that stubborn ego that ruined Belgium's tactics in multiple world championships where he ignores all the plans and just rides for himself. Sometimes even convincing one of the other guys to ride just for him. Thus fully disrupting the tactic plan. He did this in every world championship he's been selected for except for the very first one, in the pro peloton, to be clear. And it only got him 1 rainbow jersey. Had he done his job in the other world championships Wout may have already gotten that jersey as well.
He pulled the same selfish act at the Olympic Games.
And that typical selfish nature came out again in his first interviews before going to Canada saying: "I want to be the first cyclist to wear win both jerseys in the same year". Not a word about team tactics or team play, or "one team" or acknowledging Wout as co-leader.
Then he won quebec, and he got more arrogant. Stating "Montreal is even tougher, big guys can't win here"; jabbing at Wout van Aert.
And then there was Montreal, where we could see Remco's real nature on screen.
He got mad at other riders for brushing up against him. He forced his teammate, who was having a superb day and was in the leading group at that time, to wait for him and guide him to the front of the race, where he couldn't go along with Del Toro, Seixas and a number of others. After the race he again jabbed at Wout van Aert saying "everyone in the top 10 today is below 70 kilos".
And his win in the Worlds' TT race did not help sooth that ego, not one bit. But if we look at past world championship TT races; when he wins with such a massive margin, he becomes a shadow of himself in the road race and either does an early pointless attack, or just gets off his bike and dissapears. Both actions dismantle the team tactics and is him making sure no one else from his country will win that jersey but he.

Meanwhile Wout in his interviews "we start as 1 team, 1 country with two leaders and we'll do everything we can to put someone from wearing our jersey on that highest podium spot".

Remco is not a team player. He's a talented cyclist who was put on a pedestal and got high of off himself standing there. He thinks everyone is supposed to work for him and he thinks because he's 2nd on the UCI ranking that he's the patron of the peloton when Pogacar isn't present. So when people don't listen to him, or don't follow his commands: he becomes an angry child.
He's not a leader. He wasn't in his youth, he wasn't with his old team Quick-Step and he isn't in his new team Red Bull; and he never was in the national team.
He rides for himself, and only himself. And he'll fight, ridicule and criticise anyone who doesn't ride for him as well. Because he thinks he's the golden boy. Because people have been telling him that his whole life.

It's kind of sad when someone so talented ends up being getting so drunk of off their own performances and then think the whole world falls to their knees.

Who is Paul "Syca"??? Who is "Matthew" van de Poel??? How long is 3 "mints"? Who is Remco "uh-ven-a-pool"? Remco didn't spend "6 weeks off the bike", he was training at altitude. Remco and Wout don't hate each other. Has Matty changed is name to Mads?

Is this AI slop?

Both are very talented and can win, but......both always react to their emotions and that is their downfall....
