  Damn, I wish my dad had made it to see this video. He was the one who got me into 40k back in 4th ed. What appealed to him wasn&apos;t the operatic clashing of huge dudes with daddy issues, it was the deeply human themes of sacrifice, loss, greater purpose, and conflict that was all-consuming but still meaningful on an individual scale. It was the same reason why he was so passionate about military history despite never having a violent bone in his body; the stories, both fictional and real, that resonated with him were not about guns or death or pain. He cared about how flawed and vulnerable people rose to acts of leadership, brilliance, strength, courage, honor, sacrifice, and loss when they were faced with an undeniable call to action &nbsp;or a circumstance that demanded it. I&apos;m sure I don&apos;t need to mention that he was a stalwart Guard player, with a homebrew regiment. I&apos;m sure I don&apos;t need to mention that he was the one who introduced me to Gaunt, whom he admired greatly (he clocked right away the throughline from Gaunt to Sharpe to Horatio Hornblower, which he was a boyhood superfan of). His passion for military history and modelbuilding is the reason I&apos;m a 40k fan, and I would have loved to send him this video. As always Leutin, this is a great work but this one resonated for me on a few deeply personal levels which is why I&apos;m leaving this comment.

  Carnhide showed his officers and troops the face and demeanour that they needed him to show while keeping his doubts and inner turmoil for his logs. Great respectful one who understands the costs of his decisions.
