Apparently, the entire cast and crew were drunk during the whole film shoot, which makes sense. They all looked like they were having a blast in gorgeous Greece, singing ABBA.

Casting directors pitching this like “you will be DRUNK in GREECE and sing ABBA” and I think everyone on shoot had been waiting their entire lives for that

I saw someone say once that Sam was the one Donna wanted to be Sophie's dad, Bill is the one most likely to be Sophie's dad and Harry is the one who wanted to be Sophie's dad the most

Colin Firth’s character in the stage show talks about his husband waiting for him in England with their son! It’s very sweet!

A little thing I love about the super trouper performance is that the 3 dads are all talking about how its their song but when Donna ends the song she's looking solely at Sophie.

My 2 favourite things about this movie is that no one shames Donna for sleeping with 3 different men in such a short time and that although Donna and Sophie both have romantic partners Mamma Mia is ultimately a love story between a mum and her daughter and as someone who grew up with just her mum this movie will always hit me right in the feels.

A lot of people are confused about why the people working at and around the hotel are so much involved with the songs and yet have nothing to say about the shenanigans going on.

Well, they are Greek, and they sing the chorus lines... they are the Greek chorus. They are as a group a theatrical tool and not actual characters in the story.

It certainly doesn't help that one of them doubles as Harry's love interest.

Mamma Mia is about girlhood, the simplicity of it, about being loud and silly, the joy, the solidarity, the bond between a mother and her daughter. That's why Mamma Mia is so loved, it's simple and comforting and a little ridiculous, allows us to be girls again, with Abba songs and a stunning scenery
