  This is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. I remember hearing it when it first came out. Her voice, the melody, the chords. Oh my!

  In 1977 I started work in the airline industry for a now defunct small airline in Boston, that served the towns and cities of New England, Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard. &nbsp;At this time both James Taylor and Carly Simon had separate homes on the Vineyard. &nbsp;He was going through a functional heroin addiction. &nbsp;Many times at the ticket counter , I would write his tickets, run his AMEX, to fly over. He said very little, always had on sunglasses, and wore a long raincoat, and a fedora. &nbsp;On 4 to 5 occasions Carly would also fly over, every encounter she was absolutely sweet as pie. I don’t think she was aware of how beautiful, and famous she was. &nbsp;She grew up wealthy from her father’s publishing house. But never had airs about her. … IMO this is her best song out of many best songs… great reaction 👍

  How this song hasn&apos;t been in a movie or brought back to life in some form or remade from the 70&apos;s is beyond belief. &nbsp;It is a masterpiece.

  The &nbsp;female singer / songwriters back then blazed the &nbsp;trail for the decades to come. Carly Simon, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Melanie others were all brilliant. Performers like Linda Ronstadt also blazed a &nbsp;trail by taking control of their &nbsp;career rather than let &nbsp;record company execs dictate to them what they shall sing. Ronstadt beat then all down, every decision she fought for &nbsp;was absolutely right. she sang &nbsp;every style perfectly and with innovation.
