So the entire C suite collectively decided to commit career suicide. "Whether the board is still viable to oversee fiduciary obligations" might mean the company being bought by vulture capital equity and sold off in pieces.

Getting fired for taking approved PTO sounds like discrimination to me. All it takes is one person who did NOT get fired for taking similar leave, and the company has a wrongful termination lawsuit on their hands.

$2.5 M for a 14 year senior role is a pretty reasonable settlement. I reckon she could extract significantly more. The $2.5M has to be paid along with any other contractual costs, but she still has a decent claim for reputational damages, costs and similar liabilities beyond the scope of the contract.
