Such a great point on the evolution of collecting, where most of us start with nostalgia purchases then eventually move to more "historically significant" purchases. Bridging that gap is where a lot of newer collectors tend to drop off, when they've satisfied their nostalgia itch or don't care about stuff that isn't nostalgic for them personally. But the hobbies need people to cross that gap into collectors, because that's what keeps value in older items

The thing about CIB is there's no way to tell if it was Frankensteined together. In comics, there are ways to determine if covers or pages have been married, but for games, someone could theoretically buy a bunch of copies and take the nicest pieces of each, and it will be graded as a single super nice CIB without knowing if all the pieces were originally together

Modern card collecting has become a trap of manufactured scarcity, where endless 1/1s, parallel variations, and patch inserts flood the market year after year.

Serious investors now realize that printing artificial rarities decades after an icon's actual rookie season creates a mathematically unsustainable hype cycle that ultimately holds no real value.

In stark contrast, true vintage sports and non-sports cards from the 1860s to the 1980s offer genuine, irreplaceable scarcity with drastically lower surviving populations.

These original historical cards, tickets, and stickers depict the true "GOATs" who actually shaped our world, elevating them from simple collectibles into true museum-grade artifacts.

We are currently at the ground floor of a massive market shift as knowledgeable hobbyists finally wake up to the unmatched, foundational value of these authentic vintage pieces.

Within the next two to four years, this market will fully mature, making these culturally significant treasures so fiercely hoarded that they will become permanently out of reach for the everyday collector.
