I'm sure there's enough material for a Part 2 video. Pedestrian crossings where cars get amber traffic lights and pedestrians get green. Or the raqueta roundabouts. Or that you may not stop for more than 2 minutes with your engine running. Or all the paperwork you need to have with you. Or the procedure in case of an accident.

Roundabouts in Spain. Use them as you'd use a highway. Give way when entering. Use indicators to change lanes or exit. Don't cross over lanes when exiting. Simple. The inner lanes are for overtaking or for allowing traffic merging in. Just like a highway. Do NOT use middle lane to exit ever. Most accidents are caused by this.

3:43 As a Spanish I can also say that even though conventional roads don't have so many rest stops with restaurants, they cross many beautiful and authentic villages (motorways don't), which always have at least one "Bar-Restaurante" where you can have a bite as well as get immersed in the local ambient.

I've lived in Portugal, close to the Spanish border, since 2003. I drive the same local roads daily. No matter how often, the scenery never fails to take my breath away. Simply stunning views on wide, open roads.

Perfect timing! ;) I just spent a month on the Costa del Sol and was baffled watching the many different ways drivers interpret the rules, especially with roundabouts. I erred on the side off polite and defensive to get by but was impressed at how assertively Spaniards drive.

Thank you for your video. I was looking for a complete video with all the information about how to drive in Spain and you provided the well structured information about it. I am Latino American living in 🇪🇸 and found your video the best.

I have been living in Spain for 25 years. Tailgaters provide the continued threat of being run into if you have to stop quickly. I always leave extra space to car in front.
Using the only the outside lane on roundabouts is taught in driving schools..
Very confusing.
Roads are excellent.
Good luck.

Good video, but a found a few points that you are missing:
0:50 in cities it depends on how many lanes there on your way of traffic, if there's only 1 lane, limit is 30 (unless a sign says it is less), if there are 2 or more lanes, limit is 50 (unless a sign says otherwise)
1:12 there are 2 types of highways, or motorways as you say in the video; the ones inside of a city are limited to 100 (autovía), the rest are limited to 120 as you said. These are usually in signs, so don't worry to much thinking if you are in a highway inside or outside a city. All of these speed limits of course can get lower if a sign says so, so pay attention.
2:00 you did it on the video (not on 11:09) but to clarify, you also have to signal with the right blinker that you are exiting the roundabout, also you can signal with the left blinker to communicate that you NOT exiting the roundabout, but you shouldn't leave it active all the time, only if there are cars that may want to exit.
3:00 best advide, don't drink and drive xD
5:00 locals don't use toll roads cause, at least in Madrid, it doesn't safe more than 15 minutes usually; is not worthy
6:00 you need to have the best accessible from your driver seat, it can't be in the trunk. triangles depends on the visibility there's of your car, if you are in a highway you require to put one behind, if you are in a country road you also need to put one in front; if there's not enough visibility in any of the directions you put the triangles (50 meters at least), you need to place them 100 metes away, if visibility is normal 50 meters away.
8:45 if you get the ticket from the machine, put in the dashboard so it is visible for the pedestrians, otherwise you may get a ticket anyways and later have to present present that you got the ticket in other to avoid paying the fee. Usually now they do it by the license plate, but is better to be safe than sorry.
9:20 sometimes, you can find the sign but there no cameras there; anyway, don't exceed the limit just in case

Thanks for pointing out that, upon entering a roundabout with a marked cycle lane, as is the case in the first roundabout in the video that you have to check and give way to cyclists, the clue is in the road markings, this also applies on leaving the roundabout, make sure no cyclist is passing on your nearside. Although the usual road markings are clear I get the feeling that people do not understand them always. Keep up the good work Stuart !
