  The only reason the AYN Thor isn&apos;t the obvious choice here is the RAM pricing surge + the lack of availability/value outside the US.

  When Nintendo designed the 3DS, they didn&apos;t manually program or emulate DS features from scratch. Instead, they physically integrated a modified version of the Nintendo DSi system architecture directly into the 3DS motherboard to serve as a sub-processor. As such, we ended up accidentally getting a device that despite not having the port to insert GBA cartridges, has native support for GBA games, so while it looks emulated, it is not.

  I’m so glad I have a used, modded 2DS XL. But I also got it for $109, and I’m not sure if I could truly justify it with today’s prices and the existence of amazing replacements.

  As a modded New 3ds XL and Odin 2 Portal owner, I still want a Thor for dual screen games. The upscaling on the Thor would make 3ds games so much better for me. The 3ds resolution is showing its age.

  Forgot to mention 4x resolution, texture packs, mods, etc. you can create a whole remaster and play in dual screen

  One thing people never mention is that the N3DS makes a great 3D Movie player, especially with Clownsec installed. Download 3D movies &amp; scrape boxart and info. <br><br>3D movies without the glasses. Can’t do that with a Thor

  The stuttering is called compilation stutter. Happens when new shaders are loaded into the game and it has to compile them, that&apos;s why it happens the first time a new asset or effect goes off but after that its relatively smooth

  My train of thought is that I already have the Nintendo switch 2 (which I play most of the games I want anyway) but I’d love to replay the nostalgia from the 3DS, esp modded.
