  Went to his brothers funeral. Pilot dies in the air. He's trying to save his family. Jesus. Can't make this shit up. He needs a true blessing.

  I'm proud to say that the female air traffic controller was my flight instructor.  She is an amazing person, a great pilot and she handled this situation perfectly.

  Doug is a great communicator. ATC asked him if auto-pilot is off, and rather than responding “yes”, he said “both switches are disengaged, down on the console”… he’s giving them information rather than answers
