One of the things I always love about your videos is just the sounds. Birds and wind, footsteps, the sound of tools and hard work. So much better than what I hear most of my life: cars, always cars, so many cars.

As a person studying the Anglo-Saxon period, this channel is my absolute favourite not just in terms of entertainment, but also in regards to education on every day life which is hardly spoken about in the primary sources. What an absolute gem.

It's a good thing that you're keeping these ancient skills alive. The way this world is going, we're all going to need people like you to show us how it's done.

It’s great to see you making a living hedge wall since as I understand it, it’s a practice that’s been dying out in modern day England. Hopefully it’s coming back as farmers learn just how vital they are for biodiversity and as windbreaks for their fields and choose to keep maintaining them or having them maintained

I am always impressed by how central the idea of weaving is to so much of what you make. From Australia, I have never seen a hedge like this in real life. It will be great to watch it all thicken up over time.

A lot of wind driven problems in Wyoming would be fixed by people doing things like this. This makes me so happy to see you do.

I'm forever grateful to those old boys who taught me how to lay hedges and coppice Hazel with the axe and billhook. Skills I will never forget.

Hedges can also make a meaningful difference in the winter by stopping the wind, especially if they reach a certain height.

As well as being very informative, these videos have a sort of Bob Ross effect on me.
