Georgia is clearly a runner with a vast amount of talent - success at a younger age does not guarantee that you will succeed as a senior but it does indicate well above average ability. Her time away from the sport (did she ever become a complete couch potato?) gave her time to mature into an adult. Just listening to Georgia talk you can tell that she is a very intelligent, thoughtful athlete. Combine the physical ability with this mental prowess and you get a very high class international runner!

Would love to have heard more about her cycling training and all the work she does on zwift. Her training routine is so interesting and different to other atheletes.

What an interesting young athlete who is open to sharing her experiences with amateurs - take your recovery seriously if you want longevity within this sport consistency is something that comes up again & again from the pro’s. 😊

I use to run on and off in the gym it was only a few years ago i got back into outdoor running, ill be honest i think i enjoy it less than more lol but i push each time i run. somedays it don't go to plan other days epsh on the days when you aren't feeling it i run further. Its all about mindset, if youre able to keep consistent regardless of how you feel it does get easier. Your body remembers when it gets rough to when you seem to glide. It's a game changer you can do it alone or with friends or family. Being outdoors gives you a sense of freedom too not to mention you always feel better for it

Honestly I know it was said when this podcast first came out that it was going to be epic, however, just how epic wasn't really stated. The calibre of guests is insane, it really does take inspiration to the next level, case and point this week.
Also "Less than 8 hours feels like an all nighter" and "8 gel packets", very funny.

Great interviews on here, went in not expecting too much as not exactly a made in Chelsea Fan but they are excellent. I am amazed there are not more subscribers but sure this will build. To me it should be on mainstream tv.

I coach athletics in my spare time. When I was doing my coaching training shadowing other coaches there was a mixed group of 10-12 year olds. On track intervals Georgia and another girl were always up front setting the pace. The other girl had worse endurance but was actually a bit faster, switched to sprinting then I heard moved to football at 15 I heard. I always thought Georgia would be a 5km runner - just shows you!

It was literally just a few sessions but I did hold a watch on them. I went on to coach at a different club in Ealing more a run club type. Its tough to transition from junior to senior in the UK as outside of a scholarship to America there is no real financial support until you get to being top 8 in the world or medal potential etc

Always watched Georgia's progress to a bigger uk club but was thrilled to see her big come back. From memory she was actually faster than Keely as a junior on one age group (obv earlier). There was a guy at the same club another English school champion but he just gave it up. Would be so nice for them to have some financial incentive like football as otherwise its just down to luck and circumstance who out of the one with the talent makes it.

A lot of runners with similar speed just don't have the speed endurance that someone like Georgia has its not down to just psychology. Coe and Ovett were has 200m speed probably a full second faster than runners like Walker so it was game over. Georgia is like Steve Cram who could beat faster runners over 800m because of here superior 1500m type speed endurance plus there are rounds in championships. Coaches of Georgia and Keely are on another couple of levels up and pros amongst the best in the world

When Bannister ran sub 4 the WR was 4:01.6. Taking 7 seconds off is too far off even changing things making it not eligible for a world record just the same as the sub 2. The pacing for the entire distance, shoes over 20mm and other factors take about 2 seconds off leaving it still about 4/5 secs still outside. Would take someone who can run 1:50 for 800m. Its for the future imo
