Setting The Bar For Sound? : Technics AZ100

  I&apos;ve had my AZ100&apos;s for a month or so now, side by side with the BOSE ultra&apos;s, BOSE QC 2024, Huawei Freebuds 4 Pro, AirPods Pro 2 and more. These replaced my Airpods for the best all arounder by a good margin, and with proper EQ the sound equals all my favorites or surpasses them. Here are my lessons learned:<br><br>For ANC: you have to turn on adaptive ANC to get the most out of these. Sometimes it does nothing, but others--like walking next to heavy traffic---it&apos;s a 10% increase. Now, with foam tips... these are equal to the BOSE Ultras, or at least so close anytime I think they&apos;re worse that adaptive ANC kicks in an they&apos;re indesinguishable. I&apos;ll probably sell my Ultra&apos;s now they&apos;re that good with foam tips. Without foamy&apos;s, they are just a little better than my Airpod Pro 2&apos;s by like 5%. Transparency is equal to APP&apos;s too imo, maybe 5% less.<br><br>For Sound: I had to drop my 350 hz like 4 clicks to clean up the boominess of the bass. Now it sounds super tight and satisfying, and big still. The crunch in my metal guitars was super smoothed over and reallly disappointing, as many have also found. Boosting the 3500 hz like 9 clicks (normally too much) for me fully corrected that problem. (Using a parametric EQ called PowerAmp on my Android, amazing app) But occasionally now some other songs are a little harsh or thin in the mids. So mostly fixed with some annoying consequences still.<br><br>Some may not know, but if you program the press and hold to volume up or down, just holding it will steadily increase or decrease volume. This was a game changer, and the best implimentation of a non-swipe volume control out there with no big annoying chimes like the BOSE QC 2024 to get in the way of listening to how loud you want it.<br><br>These buds rock, and with 10 hours of battery and a very compact case. Wow.

  Me as a bass head i felt the bass great at default but i made a custom eq and put it on +7 so it has more bass😂

  I have the new Sony WH1000XM6 and the Technics AZ100. I am amazed how much I enjoy listening to music much on the AZ100s.

  It&apos;s Bluetooth 5.3, not 5.2.

  I&apos;ve actually come to discover i like memory foam eartips. They&apos;re a lot more comfortable in my ears than silicone, hold better in my ears, and I enjoy the extra bass they add.

  Thanks for the review...I&apos;m still rocking the AZ60 for work (best touch controls with gloves on, factory worker here). I will aquire the AZ-100 once on sale. $250 seems a perfect price.
