I like this video but these recommendations are a bit mehhh I’ve tried a couple of the popular masks you mentioned such as omnilux and my sister had the currentbody what I learned is that specs are only half the story. Omnilux felt legit but I never loved the longer sit down routine. (and no I didnt give up on it after 6 weeks ive used it for 3months) brightness it was unbearable, long sessions made it hard to be consistent and as per currentbody my sister also complained on long session plus scars around the mouth and eyes that the mask would leave, that sucked.
Personally and (idk why this one is not up there) Solawave is the one I would repurchase over and over again, I also talked with my derm about it. She said red light can help as maintenance if expectations are realistic and said solawave is great great option to start with. For me it has been more of a skin quality thing such as, less tired looking skin, softer fine lines (11s too) and less redness around my cheeks and nose

Thank you for mentioning it can trigger melasma! - I feel like so many content creator raves about red light but don't mention that it can trigger melanoma. I love red light on chest and scalp but when I consistently use it on my face, it triggered some new large melasma! I was able to reverse it by stopping immediately but it traumatized me because I thought that the melasman was going to stay. Be careful and aware of the effects on your face and take it slow!

The point about not just buying the most powerful-looking device was really useful. I didn’t realize things like wavelength, irradiance, heat, and actual regulatory clearance could make such a big difference. I’m curious when comparing devices, how much weight should people really put on the published technical specs versus the brand’s clinical testing? There are so many skincare devices out there, including products from brands like Kandyway, so it would be interesting to know what specs are actually worth checking first.

I used to have have an OmniLux mask but a few years ago I purchased a whole body Platinum LED panel that hangs on the back of my door. I absolutely love this thing . I can cover a lot of my body in one 19 minute seating. I gave my OmniLux mask away.

I recently purchased the Equinox Pro. Then I found this video. I’m wondering if you have an opinion on that device? I did compare the wavelengths, light colors, fluence and irradiance to some of the ones that you mentioned. What made me choose this mask was the fact that it had red lights between the upper lip and the nose (one of my major problem areas) and most other masks do not.
