  I&apos;ll never forget that day back in the late 1980s when they rolled out the B-2 bomber. It was on national TV live when they opened up the hanger doors, and then pulled this giant UFO onto the tarmac. The first thing that went through my mind was wondering why they would be showing this to the world.The second thought I had was if they&apos;re showing this, what else are they hiding? <br><br>The first time I ever saw one, I knew it was coming to the airfield I was standing on. When I looked to the SE, I could see it in the distance. It looked like a &quot;mirage&quot; in the desert. You couldn&apos;t see it, but you knew it was there, because it was being escorted by 20 other airplanes. This was in 1992 in broad daylight. After that I saw them a couple of times flying around Disney World when I was working. I even saw one flying in formation with a B-1 bomber once. 😮 <br>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horten_Ho_229

  It&apos;s so expensive because so few were built. &nbsp;The entire cost of the Stealth bomber program produced fewer than two dozen aircraft. &nbsp;On the other hand, &nbsp;the same R&amp;D is currently producing the more practical B-21 Raider .

  Jack Northrup&apos;s experiments with flying wings go all the back to 1935. &nbsp;He had a piston powered scale model flying before Pearl Harbor. &nbsp;He was also still alive and present when the B2 was unveiled.
