  In the lore of the show, everyone's hell form takes on characteristics of how they died. In Alastor's lore, he was a serial killer and was shot in the head by a hunter who mistook him for a deer.

  Christian Borle plays Vox, and the dude is basically Broadway Royalty so obviously he’s going to absolutely nail any vocal part he gets to do. He’s one of the big names in Broadway because he’s one of those people that is able to do these super big roles with a level of casualness that make it look easy. He was in Something Rotten, Legally Blonde, Falsettos, and Little Shop of Horrors just to name a few plays he’s done. Honestly, I’d say him, Jeremy Jordan, and Ramin Kamiloo are probably the big three of Broadway actors at the moment, they’re basically household names at this point for Broadway fans.

  Alastor was a serial killer who hid bodies in the woods and was killed by a hunter who thought he was a deer. When sinners arrive in Hell they typically take on traits of how they lived and died. So Alastor retained his 1900s radio host demeanor plus deer traits.

  I love Alastor&apos;s shadow vocal on the &quot;Let&apos;s begin-a.&quot; His is much shorter, ominous, controlled. Vox is like performative villain. Alastor feels real, foreboding. And the little shadow vocal is so well animated, nice attention to detail!
