  To paraphrase Noah Caldwell-Gervais: frustration ruins tension. No sequence can remain scary/tense/unnerving if you&apos;re getting frustrated at the game&apos;s mechanics and having to repeat them over and over.

  Naming the series after a town really created a longevity problem after Team Silent left. It&apos;s hard to be creative when it&apos;s tied to a location. So I&apos;ll always appreciate an earnest effort to try with new studios<br><br>Edit: ( Since My comment has almost 300 likes. Look uo When You&apos;re Gone from SH Shattered Memories ) Best SH track imo. Very underrated..it needs recognition ❤

  I came away from Townfall feeling similar to how I felt about Mike Flanagan&apos;s The Fall of the House of Usher miniseries: this is sociological horror wearing the tropes and aesthetics of psychological horror without any interest in why that introspective, relational horror works. I found Zoe&apos;s section to be the most compelling because it grounded her within her relationships to her patients, their families, the doctors, and her fellow nurses. She felt like a person within a community, for good and ill. The game&apos;s story ultimately fizzles because the relationships between the core characters are so passingly incidental that they don&apos;t matter to each other or us as players.

  I’ve never seen a review I agree with more, the setting was incredible to see, being from coastal Scotland and now even working in a hospital. It was so immersive that the horror really had me jumpy and messing up more than anything in years. The stealth just wore me down so much with how slow the waiting was and the puzzle design was insane at times. It went from being one of the strongest experiences I’ve felt to something I was extremely ready to finish. I really hope they patch some things up because it feels so special ;(
