I finally stopped trying to muscle my ugly serve form and practiced proper swing mechanics. After 3 days, I could actually feel a smooth racket drop and a looping/pulling sensation. The most confusing part of the serve is that the run way from start to finish is almost 4 times longer that what I've understood for the past decade. The whole motion starts from a light toss, racket pendulum backwards, knee bend, racket raise to trophy, and then finally hit a slot where the racket naturally drops down, you pull the racket out of a loop, and pronate the forearm to contact. It all makes sense now and I had to discover all of this without a coach.

The most useful thing is to practice that Alcaraz shadow serve over and over until it is burned into your body and brain. I've shadowed from slow to fast about 300 times and without knowing it, it just came out during some practice serves against the wall. I'm still at the beginning of my serve journey but this has been incredibly eye opening for me to experience.

Great tips. Challenge at my level, rq speed nowhere near a pro, so rq motion starts b4 leg drive. But tips are still super valid !
