no switches with glued batteries will be able to be sold after febuary 18 in UK.  they are trying to sell as many old models as possible before then.

I remember everyone was out telling people to buy before the price hike.  I knew if the prices jumped they would sell less and the retailers would drop the price to move their excess stock, and here we are. I think it's a pattern that will repeat

That's the model that you can't remove the battery, it makes sense to move the old ones before the new ones come in.

…Are you freaking kidding me?! Ugh… <br>Edit: Oh yeah. It’s probably because over there they’re getting a new model where it’s easier to change the battery and so they’re trying making it easier to get rid of old stock in preparation of that.

I think it's pretty cool that you stick to the topics you find interesting and get to the point. If something community-focused happens spontaneously that's great, but trying to "build a community" for its own sake is kinda empty.

They're probably just doing it to get rid of the all old EU version of the console because they get to have an update version with a much more easily replaceable battery, not because Nintendo or the retailers love us consumers, but because the old version won't adhere to the new European law about costumer right to repair. I believe something has to be at least IPV-67 (or maybe 68?) or better, or the battery has to be easily replaced.

Consoles are sold at a loss to recoup the costs later. These gaming companies don't want to do this method anymore.
