I see people so frequently jump to the conclusion that every single little thing Kris does is actually us, to the point they say Kris playing the piano is the first time showing agency under our control, when Kris up to that point has constantly shown their own thoughts, feelings and personality on executing our &quot;commands&quot;. People are quick to go fully meta, but this game very purposely plays like an RPG instead of a simulation. We are not controling Kris like a videogame avatar of us, we&apos;re playing their role, in their body, with their personality, and they very clearly do things their own way even under our control. Susie didn&apos;t &quot;make friends with us through Kris&quot;, she made friends with Kris despite our actions, and so on.

  My hope is that, in the best case scenario, we as the player will let Kris control US—like, a battle where we follow timed button prompts at their behest, to stop a big bad. Would feel so cathartic.

  Susie does seem to have a home, actually. Given her dialogue when interacting with the apartment block to the right of the alleyway’s entrance, that’s likely where she lives.

  About 6 minutes in, just wanna put in another gaster connection I thought about. In chapter 4, Kris can sing the wrong number song. You encounter the wrong number song only one other time; in Undertale with the fun events. Literally every other fun event can be tied into gaster: Sans is related to gaster, the ice-e word search is related to sans, Alphys is Gasters replacement, etc. The only one people could arguably say isnt Gaster related is the wrong number song, the most common event (the caller is asking for a &quot;g&quot; so grain of salt.) &nbsp;But now we have Kris, a deltarune character, singing a hyper specific undertale song, one which can only be encountered with a random event system that is 99% just Gaster shit ™️

  i think gaster is or us a metaphor for an author so consumed with his creation, so enthralled, that he literally falls into it. falls into escapism, falls into the depths, &quot;fell into his creation. my deltarune&quot;. i dont know if gaster is supposed to be the literal author of deltarune. but i think gaster is a more meta representation of toby, or atleast, his feelings as an author. after all, we know deltarune is sonething that matters deeply to toby, a story that dates back to years and years in the making. we know toby is a creator, and clearly someone who thinks very deeply. maybe toby feels like hes been swallowed up by his story, than a part of his is in the depths itself, in that world of darker than darker than dark. or maybe he, as a creator, wanted to explore what would happen to him if he let such a thing happen to him. after all, toby has literally spoke as gaster through his twitter account. maybe the annoying dog is toby, and gaster is what toby could be<br><br>no matter gasters relation to toby, i have a strong feeling gaster is an author or creator of sone kind who is lost in his own creation, in his own escapism. he might even be like us, a being of light beyond light, an angel. a real person. who knows tbh

  Oh yeah by the way another Gaster connection is that the Shadow Mantle gives 66% damage reduction against Dark/Star attacks in case that&apos;s useful to anyone
