I think that Simon and Garfunkel are both musical geniuses and that they both individually had a vision for the music they were making and that they both needed to get that vision out of themselves artistically, so that's my opinion as to why they struggled and separated, but reunited too because of their strong and long friendship and bond, both musically and personally. I am 53 years old. I remember listening to them on the record player beginning when I was five years old and just loving them. ❤

They felt like best friends to my husband and me from when we first heard them, they were a staple in our household morning into night. They were a large part of the soundtrack to our adventure in life. Now they are our "old friends" & we love them......

Two of the most musically talented guys I have ever heard, singing some of the most beautiful songs. I wish they had been able to love each other as we loved them and with the passing of time I hope that both have come to recognise that together they were extraordinarily special. 🙏💙❤💙

It's easy to forget that they were there "at the Creation", so to speak: rock and roll's original generation of talent. Very few left alive can say they had a record out in the 1950s. Of course they went to a more folksy version of pop, but pop it always was. It also occurs to me that they've spent the majority of their lives being former friends, rather than "old friends", as their song goes. Neither one will be with us much longer, I fear. Glad to see a tribute early.
