To all the old metal heads, I'm 66 and there will never be another era of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin.

Saw them play Perth aquatic centre in 1973, I was just a 33 year old kid, I can still see hundreds of kids jumping in when they played smoke on the water, I'm still an 80 year young kid at heart, still rocking mainly in my rocking chair, love and peace from Australia 😎✌🎶🎵🎶🎵

Their music is like fine wine: the older the better. Today, in 2025, at 67, I like them more than I did when I was a teenager in the 1970s.

Mark II lineup for me is the best of all the eight [8] lineups: Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Ian Gillan. This crew rocked the boat better than all lineups. For a start there's Jon Lord's writing plus his Hammond organ masterful skill level, then there's Ian Gillan's phenomenal vocals, Ritchie Blackmore's genius writing and axe work, Ian Paice's left hand drumming and amazing ability to knit the group together, and finally Roger Glover's phenomenal bass axe work. This lineup at that time/era simply blew the minds of any and all rock music journalist/critic and audience who were fortunate enough to experience DEEP PURPLE live. The SONGS here in this video simply are the BEST versions Deep Purple ever played for me. Made In Japan & The Machine Head World Tour of 1972 & 1973 produced the BEST LIVE performances of ALL TIME. Their live performances in Copenhagen Denmark '72 from: The Official Deep Purple (Overseas) Live Series: Copenhagen 1972 to me remain their best live work ever. BTW I am a 57 year young Kiwi {New Zealander] and I am a die-hard totally committed, dedicated, and loyal fan of Deep Purple. My passion for the group began in 1974 at the age of 10-11 when a friend invited me to his home to listen to the album Deep Purple In Rock on his record player that was in his bedroom. Track #1 'Speed King' blew my mind for a 10 year old. I had never heard anything like it in my 10 years of living. The start of Speed King sounded as though one was in church. And then when it crescendo-ed in to full speed with Blackmore, Paice, Lord, and Glover in total overdrive I was spell bound by nirvana. I worked as a milk boy delivering milk for a milk vendor and earned enough money to buy my very first VINYL LP; Deep Purple 'Machine Head' in 1976 - I was 13. But there was one problem. Our family didn't have a record player...So I begged and begged my father to buy a family stereo. He finally reneged and I could play my LP on the family stereo that was located in the lounge. On NUMEROUS occasions my mother would scream at me to 'TURN THE VOLUME DOWN' when I played my LP. My mother & father conjured a plan and invested in a set of HEADPHONES. I went on to buy more Deep Purple albums; 'Who Do We Think We Are' ['74], 'Burn' ['74], and finally 'Stormbringer' ['74]. I noticed there was a change in the sound of Deep Purple on Stormbringer and I didn't like it as much as their previous albums. The change in sound was due to changes in the Deep Purple lineup. Out went vocalist Ian Gillan, and bass axeman Roger Glover, and in came vocalist David Coverdale, and bass axeman/vocals Glenn Hughes. I ceased buying anymore Deep Purple albums and switched my allegiances to another UK rock group by the name 'LED ZEPPELIN'.
