I will always respect an artist’s desire to experiment, to pare things down, to try a different approach. But the studio effects and electronics in the original recording of Porcelain are what make the song powerful. They create a timeless, dreamy atmosphere and also (I’m sorry to say) hide a multitude of shortcomings in the writing and vocals. Sometimes the technical enhancements are just too integral to the sound and impact of a song, and stripping them away is not an improvement.

I honestly believe that Porcelain is one of the best songs ever written... Tackling it acoustically... It's a helluva tough act to follow. Nevertheless, still awesome.. Thank you
