My favorite part of Columbo was learning how the show kept so many classic movie stars and older extras involved in their craft. In an industry that worships youth and constant turnover, Columbo banked on proven talent. Peter Falk made sure older performers kept working. That’s integrity.

Just realized "A Few Good Men" is a how-catch-em.<br>Even has a Columbo-style "just one more thing" moment

I loved Columbo as a kid along with Cannon and Barnaby Jones.

I loved Peter Falk's performance in "Murder By Death." A Neil Simon comedy that traps a group of detectives in a mansion. It parodies popular murder mystery troupes, including Peter Falk mocking his Columbo character.

I loved the episodes with Robert Culp. Falk with his relaxed meandering and Culp with his intense focus and explosive temper played off each other’s characters beautifully.

#16 - not really related to Columbo but… in 1961 Johnny Cash did a concert In Saskatoon and there was a contest where the winner would be serenaded to by Cash. The winner ended up being a young nurse and one time beauty queen named Alexandra Wiwcharuk. The song he sang was a little ditty he co-wrote while driving from gig to gig in Saskatchewan called ‘The Girl In Saskatoon’. There’s even a picture of the two together you can find on Google. In 1962, Alexandra went out for a walk one May night to mail a letter. She never came home. Two weeks later, kids found her arm sticking out of a shallow grave along the river, six blocks from home. To this day it’s unsolved (the rabbit hole and the possible suspects, including a next door neighbor tied to a 1920s serial killer, are fascinating). Cash was on the road at a concert when he heard the news. He asked for a moment of silence from the audience and he also swore he’d never record ‘The Girl In Saskatoon’ again. You can find the song on YouTube.
