  I doubt we will ever see another Mickey Mantle, he was truly one of a kind, RIP #7.

  Mantle was the only MLB player to hit 150 home runs from either side of the plate .

  I am  a 71 year old Yankee fan. Mikey is my favorite of all time! What an incredible talent! UNBELIEVABLE!

  I was a big time Tigers fan during the 50s and 60s. &nbsp;Even so, there is a strange phenomenon, very rare, where a player is just magic. &nbsp;Where an aura of otherworldly greatness just radiates from a player.<br>That player was Mickey Mantle.

  Mickey had humor, too. &nbsp;He was just a regular guy. &nbsp;He was never jealous of Roger Maris. &nbsp;In fact, Mickey encouraged Roger to go for it, in the year when he broke Ruth&apos;s home run record. &nbsp;Mickey had a smile that we all loved.

  Only five players have lead both leagues in HR, RBI and AVG, and Mickey was the last to do it in 1956. &nbsp; Plus, he has the most self-authenticating baseball autograph of all time. &nbsp;When I was a boy growing up in Maine, CBS owned the Yankees and the were on tv every weekend. &nbsp;yay.

  In high school mickey hit on one of his shins and he almost lost his lower leg. He had a bone disease &nbsp;which affected both legs. Look magazine had special on mickey. It showed a trainer &nbsp;wraping up both legs to the top of his thighs to get ready to play a game. Amazing &nbsp;ball player

  Back in &apos;62 I was the big kid on campus in Smithtown Long Island - I had 3 Micky Mantle baseball cards😁

  Mickey won the triple crown for all of baseball in 1956, not just the American League, he ked BOTH leagues in batting average, rbi&apos;s and home runs!
