  I'm a born and raised Puertorrican, disabled combat vet and very proud of AOC. I will be eternally gratefull for Bernie and his collegues for the 'Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands Equitable Rebuild Act' they legislated after the disaster that hurricane Maria was in 2016 which helped my parents and other family in the island.

  I&apos;m a 59 yr old who grew up in a conservative/libertarian working class family and spent most of my adult life in a deeply conservative religious community. It gradually became clear to me that many things about the conservative views I held, were not in harmony with my moral and ethical values. I&apos;ve deconstructed my previous understanding of history, politics, the world, &nbsp;and come out the other side as a passionate socialist and progressive. &nbsp;<br><br>Bernie was the first in politics &nbsp;who gave me a sense of hope for an alternative that genuinely embodies human caring and dignity. I will vote for AOC if she chooses to run for president someday.

  All I knew about AOC before this:<br>- she used to be a waitress in the NY area <br>- she’s Latina<br>- she’s an activist<br>- she makes the GOP/Alt-Right/New Right froth at the mouth<br><br>15 minutes in I now know she’s a thoughtful woman with a great sense of community, definite goals, genuine determination, spiritual devotion and a solid political education.<br><br>Great to finally “meet” relatable US representatives, as opposed to learning about them in disbelief through their latest stunts, antics and dark schemes (MTG style)

  Bernie, &nbsp;I&apos;ve been a socialist since I was 20 -- 61 years. &nbsp;I worked full-time in the antiwar movement. &nbsp;One of my friends moved home to Vermont to work on one of your early campaigns. &nbsp;You&apos;ve inspired me for years. &nbsp;Thank you so much for sticking with it. &nbsp;Bob

  Alexandria is an inspiration to all of us! Young and old! This 64 year old Grandma is delighted to see her in Congress and speaking truth to power!<br>God bless you both! Watching this post election makes it even more bittersweet because the next 4 years are going to require much of all of us!<br>I’m praying for all our Representatives and Senators to be able to stand strong against the worst of this next administration’s policies and actions and that they be granted wisdom to take actions that will benefit our nation and protect our freedoms!

  I grew up in the suburbs of Boise, Idaho and looking back I know my family struggled a lot, but we weren&apos;t even the worst off out of folks I knew. People like you got us reduced or free lunches and breakfast in school which made our family&apos;s funds go further to buy school supplies, clothes, and prescriptions. We were able to attend head start preschools and be on a more level playing field with folks much better off. Thank you for flighting for human dignity
