Just found your channel a week ago or so and am very much enjoying and learning. This video brings me back to my childhood. Thank you for messing with a 1991 laptop. Brought a big smile to my face for the whole video. "Simpler" times back then. The quotes are because the software was simpler. Hardware replacement was not. 😅

it was painful watching this delayed streaming as I grew up in the DOS world and was telling you what to do which someone finally typed it in for you. First PC was a Tandy 1000 PC clone with a NEC V20 replacement CPU chip to speed it up. Dual floppy and I jury rigged a Western Digital hard drive controller to work with Tandy interrupt line and put a Seagate ST225 in it. This was a fun one. Thanks format a: /T:80 /N:9 with the hole blocked. I used to buy 720K disks and drill the hole out. They were cheaper than the 1.44m

use your arrow keys from a command prompt to utilize command lines you want to edit and run again. Like up arrow loads previous commands you can edit using your left and right arrow keys. Used to build and repair desktops 1986-1997 when I sold the business. I would make ascii menus for my clients. So fun to watch this stream, even if it is 7 months later. LOL
I'd love to see you make an ascii menu, I had a Commodore 64 in 1985 - loved playing with fractals in basic. And I was born in 1950.

When describing floppy disks, I always use the mnemonic for cassette tapes: the plastic flap on the top can also be removed so that the tape can no longer be recorded until you stick a piece of tape over it. I don't understand how many people claim the opposite in the chat, probably people from after the cassette tape and the floppy disk.

First few minutes, just the reminder of how 'fun' it was to do large installs. Just need 30 to 80 floppy disks! Better hope they're labeled and that you don't lose/damage one!

Lol, this sure brings back memories. I got my first taste of computers with the old monochrome macs, then i286 intel computers. Our first home PC was an i486 Campaq Presario with the first CD drive! That was wild.

That's crazy I literally trashed one of these the other day, the battery was shot. And it was quite a heavy laptop

My first experience with computers was a neighbour that had an old commodore, the next time was an old desktop pc that ran dos and I'd spend hours playing descent.
First time I ruined a computer was an old 486 where i saw a 220/110 switch and was curious, it was an expensive mistake for my foster parents 😂.
