  PC&apos;s and PC peripherals sales MUST be way down.<br>I built a PC for$500 18 months ago, and those same exact parts, from the same online store, if ordered today is $1400.

  The best CPU/System you can get is the one you can afford. &nbsp;Let&apos;s be honest, and Jay has just proved it - most people are not going to notice the &quot;edge performance&quot; so long as the system as a whole is reasonably balanced.

  I have a 285k with a 5090. The most recent BIOS update fixed all of the early complaints about the 285. It’s great for gaming and because I do 3D designs, it works well with all of that software. It’s a great balance. My 64g of DDR5 isn’t running at those crazy speeds. I just set them to meet the cards specs (I don’t remember the speed) and I’ve never had a hick up.

  I&apos;m extremely happy with my Core Ultra 9 285K paired with an RTX 5080. It really shines at 1440p and 2160p resolutions. Most YouTubers compare CPUs at 1080p to eliminate GPU bottlenecks and highlight processor differences. But the reality is that hardly anyone investing in a high-end setup like this is gaming at 1080p. The performance that matters is how it delivers at 1440p and 4K, where these systems are actually meant to be used (atleast for high end gaming)

  I’ve been rocking a 285k that I got for right around $300 on a cyberpowrpc computer, I’ve had no issues and with the cost savings it was a no brainer. Loving every moment with it so far, no issues

  I bought the 285k when it first came out (production and video editing) and it&apos;s the first Intel CPU I&apos;ve used in forever. I needed the codecs for Resolve and it works in unison with the codecs (QuickSync) in the 4080 Super.
