  If they actually started charging how much it cost to run AI, it would crash immediately. AI is definitely useful, but infinite amounts of slop is being made, and this whole thing is just a massive money sink. This will blow back eventually, and it will be spectacular (and probably ruin my life in the process). They are hoping to control, monitor and monetize every aspect of our lives before that happens. By then, it won&apos;t matter who has to foot the bill. This is a race for absolute control.

  I don&apos;t think any of the uses of AI mentioned require the massive datacenters and buildout. All of these uses would certainly be possible to run locally on consumer hardware within years. None of it is going to make the bubble any less of an issue.

  what he&apos;s describing (ai ads, some accounting, meme songs) is miniscule production wise, it&apos;s not &quot;replacing things everywhere&quot;. saving on minimum wage actors or popping out unlimited supply of ai-slop music wont change economy in any meaningful way. mass market big budget games are crap as it is and it&apos;s only going downhill. and for creatively driven aa or indie it&apos;s not significant volume-wise. like best case scenario suppose you could shave 10-20mil off of a blood of dawnwalker type production - and so what? it&apos;s negligible (if even true) throughout the economy. take what zitron says, but focus on possible end product for end users on a huge scale. it&apos;s broken nv drivers one release after another, broken ms win updates, broken amazon backend and so on. the larger the effect the bigger the chances it is negative.

  To Bryan’s point about collateralized debt financing for GPUs, company A will take out debt from bank A to buy GPUs from Nvidia. Then they’ll take out loans against the GPUs (known as borrowing against inventory) from bank B building even more leverage. Throw in the fact that most of this is done off balance sheet &amp; you have one of the most opaque debt bubbles in history so far.
