Helpful summary of the whole video and the main points:

POWER BREATHS (warm-up before run)
1. Stand up straight.
2. Take a deep, controlled breath through your nose.
3. Exhale forcefully through your mouth (in an almost more open whistle-like shape).

FORCEFUL EXHALES (Periodically while running)

1. Breathe in normally through the nose (to take in O2).
2. Exhale forcefully through your mouth like blowing out a candle (to get rid of CO2).

3-2 RHYTHMIC BREATHING (while running)
1. Inhale for 3 steps (probably through your nose, but he does not specify).
2. Exhale for 2 steps (probably through your mouth, but he does not specify).
Note: he makes a point here that while you can use this 3-2 pattern, any pattern that works for you is fine. The 3-2 is just what is considered the easiest to maintain.

DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING
1. Breathe with your diaphragm, not your chest.
2. Think of your lungs like a balloon getting filled with air.

COOLING DOWN EFFECTIVELY POST-RUN
1. Take a short walk
2. Breath in a box pattern for x # of seconds. He recommends 4.
You breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, then hold for 4 seconds. Exhale through your mouth for 4 seconds, then hold again for 4 seconds. Repeat this as needed.

Hope this helped!

Box breathing is super powerful. It helped me with my panic attacks a while ago. Still use it today but never thought of trying it after a run. I will now!

    Breathing
- Power breaths ( control inhale and forceful exhale 3-5x)
- Forceful exhales ( like blowing out candles 😭)
- Diaphragmatic breathing ( breathing through diaphragm)
- Rhythm breathing 3 2 or 2 2
- Cool down with parasystematic system ( box system - inhaler for 3 sec then hold then exhale 3 sec hold)

I’ve just recently tried out this breathing method on my run and I managed to get my 1 mile run time from 10 minutes all the way down to 8! Thanks for this gem!
