  New York state did a disservice to the little girl's family. A person who tortures, rapes, & murders a child has not right to ever be free in society. He did deserve the death penalty.

  Wow, I had this image of the little girl in "To Kill A Mockingbird" as I listened to little Cheri's cousin discribe sneaking into the courtroom.  I'm so glad she went into law enforcement afterwards.  I would want her on my side any day.  RIP little Cheri.  My heart goes out to her family😢

  Cheri's mom was such a strong woman for not giving up on her husband during his grief and sticking with him through this unimaginable heart wrenching pain, i hope this monster never got to see the light of day again.  RIP sweetheart ❤

  I'm from Binghamton and I remember it so well! It was terrifying , everyone was scared! Doors were locked for the first time. God bless this family!!

  Cheri&apos;s instincts were right on! &nbsp;Sad that they were dismiss3d and that she wasnt told to never enter anyones house for any reason, but to stay outside and wait. Our children face ever worse monsters nowadays. &nbsp;Angels around her family

  Jeff dug his own grave without a single thought for how it would affect the woman he killed, her tiny son and everyone who loved her or how it would impact all the people who loved him. He hurt his own family so deeply for forever. It never occurred to him to care about that. That says everything.

  2nd story. Jeff Land is guilty. &nbsp;😢 its devastating to realize that you have been deceived by someone &nbsp;especially &nbsp;a family member. Its very devastating too to lose your child in a horrific murder. RIP

  Oh mama. I&apos;m so sorry. One time you were busy and that happened. You were such a good mama. She was such a good daughter. Her murder was James Wales fault, responsibility, doing. The man is a monster.

  Some sociopathic serial killers are very good at creating an angelic false character and creating close relationships with a handful of people as cover. Most commonly they marry and have a family not out of love but as cover. Jeff was just starting out with all that when he got caught. His gf is very lucky he got caught right away. Prob saved her life. At the very least saved her a lot of grief.

  Jeff&apos;s brother thinks because of how he was as a kid, that&apos;s who he was as an adult. Unfortunately that&apos;s not how it works.
