Brooks said upon Korman's death that working with him was "comedy heaven," so the assertion that he had an issue with him is highly problematic if not an outright falsehood, especially since he cast him in two more movies and a TV series after "High Anxiety."

I don’t agree that Mel had any problem with Gene Wilder. He always spoke of Gene in the warmest of terms. You could truly feel his admiration of him. The only time they ever disagreed was Gene insisted on the “Putting on the Ritz” number in Young Frankenstein.Mel was unsure and they argued back and forth then,Bang, Mel says “ok it’s in” Gene fought so hard to prove the scene was needed that Mel changed his mind and later admitted it’s one of the best scenes in the movie

One big error here. Mel Brooks DID work with Harvey Korman again AFTER High Anxiety: "Dracula, Dead and Loving It".

You state that; "After High Anxiety (Harvey) Korman's name disappeared from future projects." High Anxiety was released in 1977. Harvey went on to appear in both History of the World: Part I (1981) and Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995).

I have a relative who has worked in the theater business for a long time. I don't remember the anecdote well enough to repeat it blow by blow, but she tells a very long and emotional story about Jerry Lewis when he came to her theater for a show. The man was indeed arrogant, and treated everyone around him terribly and a bit misogynistically. Chevy of course was no surprise. And while I had no idea Langella and Brooks were connected, that they were a mismatch is entirely unsurprising.

But Wilder and Korman being on this list dropped my jaw. I'm not sure 'hated' is the right word, it sounds like they just had falling outs.

Mel Brooks and Frank Langella parted because of "creative differences", what you implied was NOT the reason. And then you describe EXACTLY creative differences as the cause!!!

Harvey Korman was in “History of The World Part 1” though. Brooks made that film AFTER “High Anxiety”.

You mention that Brooks told Wilder he wasn't ready to be a director, but in Brooks' autobiography, he encouraged Wilder to direct his own film, saying that was the only way to make sure his vision remained his own.

Frank Langella has spoken often of his love for Mel Brooks for giving him his start in The Twelve Chairs. When Brooks received his Kennedy Center Honor, Langella was approved to be one of the lead presenters for Brooks. If Brooks had a problem with Langella, it didn't show. He certainly may have brought in Langella to see how he might go, but I can't imagine that there was hatred when it didn't work out.

Gene Wilder was one of the sweetest souls to have ever graced the hills of Hollywood.

He loved David Lynch and was instrumental in giving a career boost to the artist. He had seen Eraserhead, thinking it was nuts(in a good way) and his encouragement of the film led to his production company handling the release of Lynch’s follow up, The Elephant Man. Whatever you may think of his humor, he has taste for what works and what doesnt

Why am I not surprised that Chevy Chase's name is on yet another 'Hated Actors' list video?
