  Riding as a POW on an American RR coach car was living large by German standards. They were treated by Geneva Conventions standards. But not comfortable by our modern passenger RR standards.

  If there was an audio of what one of the German prisoners thought, it would be interesting. A German POW in America had likely it better than a German soldier back home. It's one thing to lose your freedom; it's another to lose your life.

  The experience you are relating is very informative and I appreciate what you have compiled to educate those of us alive some 80 years after the events you are telling. The pictures that the publishers of this narrative have compiled are often humorous. Several pictures show cars and trucks facing each other on the roads. To see a column of trucks going one direction and to see a halftrack in the same column facing the opposite direction some how detracts from the seriousness of the story you are telling. Keep telling the story but help those who are compiling the pictures that accompany your narrative to be more careful about the pictures.

  they were treated good, where as  people who were borng in raised in alaska  were moved to broken down canneries and told to fend for themselves...and this was when they were told they had to moved from the privalof islands and the aluetion chaing....they died in droves....the ones that survived or did better was due to the tlingit that lived in the area showed them how to live...as they were both probably othedox church memebers

  In the 1940s, the North American continent was far away from World Conflict. <br>Of course, the US racial experience has a pale comparison with that of the Germany (hopefully) of the past.<br><br>It is quite a pity that the US rail passenger network now cannot now compare with the quality and efficiency of the current German/EU rail passenger network.

  I find what ever the group funded and produced these videos work off the same script. Many lines àppear in many videos verba item. They chose foreign names for the prisoners so the <br>USA Miltary was intergrated.<br>And one giy was always teachers. Deja vue, all over again.
