The genius irony of the plague suit designed by Charles de Lorme is that while Miasma theory ('bad air') was medically incorrect, the physical execution was accidentally brilliant: The heavy waxed leather coat prevented flea bites, the glass eyepieces shielded against droplets, and the long cane enforced social distancing 400 years before COVID.
