  The Vorpal Sword thing is because there was an April Fool&apos;s Day set of enchantments in Dragon magazine once that had an enchant that guarantees critical hits, but will fail and shatter while dealing no damage if it hits someone who recently ate a citrus fruit.<br><br>This was copied/imitated in a few other places, such as the third party 3rd edition book &apos;Nuisances&apos;. The big clue is that it &quot;always smells of lilacs&quot;, which is another one of the joke enchantments, indicating that when he said &quot;every single one&quot; he was being completely serious.<br><br>Incidentally, the lilac one is also more of a debuff as you automatically fail to hide from anything with the scent ability because &quot;the stench of lilacs is a rather rare thing to encounter in a dungeon&quot;.

  The most terrifying part is, with drawing every card from the deck of many things, that means his allignment is flipped. Which means, as a barbarian, he was originally LAWFUL evil. That&apos;s a terrifying thought that he used to just as lawful as he is now chaotic.
