  Thank you, Grandpa Earl, for your wisdom and foresight in installing the orange horns which proved to be a wise action in protecting Chiko from dying from the coyote’s teeth. There is no doubt that as a family you have all come to accept lovely Chiko as an independent member of the family, and equally in his own unique way Chiko had come to trust your family. Thanks to your prompt action in summoning medical help after the orange horn had served its purpose in getting the coyote to release Chiko from his deadly grip. I am also happy that Chiko recovered from his ordeal and was returned to his usual habitat where he obviously felt safe, and from his pose on the fence post, he has not lost any of his usual confidence. Live long and prosper lovely Chiko.

  What made this tale perfect for me was the fact Ruth decided, with all her rehabilitation experience, that the best place to release Chico was where he'd been saved from the coyote. Ruth's logic made perfect sense to me and it quite clearly made Carrie, Dale, Marcus and especially Lilly very happy. Chico obviously approved because, after 5 weeks in rehabilitation and within 3 weeks of being released in what was his territory he'd reclaimed the post he used to survey his "kingdom". Beautiful, thankyou  :-)

  One autumn day that took on a turn for the worst Chico the resident young loner bobcat that had gotten attacked by a large Coyote just feet from Lilly and Carrie with no time to think took the air horn hanging by the outside door and blasted the horn thankfully making the Coyote drop Chico and ran off through the broken fence on their property . When Carrie had called Ruth a wildlife rehab person she immediately came to help Chico and get him back to where Chico could get the help he needed for his injuries . Chico in the coming days started his journey to recover and gained strength as Chico's appetite returned . Now , as Chico had healed up enough Ruth returned Chico to his home that he had marked as his territory and released him back to his home where his human watchers lived with him and with that Chico looked around with a majestic look and reclaimed his territory that Chico has now always known as his home . Earl it seems is still watching over his home from the great beyond and keeping a close eye on the family now Earl's keeping all safe . One of the greatest parts of this story is when Carrie came to the rescue of Chico and also her daughter Lilly who was just a few feet away when the Coyote attacked Chico which could of also included Lilly and thankfully in the end all went well for Carrie's family including her wild bobcat resident Chico the main focus of this great story who had come to claim Earls home as his own too . Thank you for the great rescue story of Chico and that sometimes family comes together to help one another even the wild ones in their hour of need of help. 🐈🌳🌳🌳🍀🍀🍀🍀

  This story was beautiful and heartfelt, that little cat.. so beautiful to see.The family and the wildlife graciously shared space, it was perfect. The little Bobcat kitten was attached and Grandpas air horn proved to be &nbsp;really helpful, I&apos;m so glad it worked and the poor little cat was helped by Ruth.Also that he was released back to where he came from after he was hurt. Thanks for sharing this beautiful story,I loved it ❤❤❤

  Important aspect of this story is if you see an injured wildlife, do not touch the animal. &nbsp;Call a wildlife rehabber, who will be more experienced. &nbsp;As I was writing this, I wondered if my area had any wildlife rehabbers in our county? &nbsp;I just looked on Google and it turns out we have several in my town of Ames, Iowa. &nbsp;We have Iowa State University with a Veterinary School and clinic, which I think they could handle a larger animal like a bobcat. &nbsp;Or at least send a Veterinarian out to the Wildlife rehabber. &nbsp;We also have the Iowa DNR to call and they could redirect where the injured animal should go. &nbsp;Most of the wildlife rehabbers are for birds, bats, and small mammals. &nbsp;It&apos;s good to check in your area what there is available! <br>Thank you for this story! ❤
