I'm pretty sure Tom Holland can give a captivating talk about any topic straight off the cuff

I've only ever seen Tom Holland as a lecturer speaking on ancient historical topics. And I love him. Imagine my surprise - and double take - seeing him here speaking about The Beatles. Great way to start the day. Thanks fellas. Fantastically fun video.

Intelligent historical discourse with a Beatles/60's slant. Love it!

The parents' lines in "She's leaving home" were written by Lennon based on his aunt Mimi (Lennon also sang those lyrics), not by McCartney.

A question for Mr. Holland: How do you compare the decade of the Twenties compared to the Sixties? Both were expressions of post-war exuberance. We’re the Sixties more significant simply because we’re alive closer to that period? <br>Freedom of movement was part of the exhilaration of the 20’s. Cars! Women were able to move their legs for the first time, hence, The Charleston.

Wow, I can't believe the childhood parallels between Tom and myself. Eventhough the miles away are extensive (Southern California b. 1970) I suppose we share much of the same pop culture. How interesting. Im very often also 10 years behind, but not on the Beatles. As a toddler I reached up and somehow put a Beatles album on. Thank you for the illumination.

George Harrison wrote and performed fun songs with the Traveling Wilburys. I think growing older brought up a lighter side of him, especially after he helped finance and produce movies like Time Bandits and The Life of Brian.

Linking Chaucer to the Beatles - wonderful.
