  My Aunt Muriel who just turned 100 was a bus conductor in Liverpool. Two lads with guitars were regulars on her bus, they would put their guitars under the stairs and head upstairs where smoking back then was allowed.<br>One night 3 lads got on board but this time took their guitars with them upstairs. After awhile she heard music and they really impressed her. When they came down she complimented them and said “You must be in a band.” <br>The Quarrymen they replied.<br>She told her eldest, Lindy and Doug “You got to check out The Quarrymen!” Which they did and became regular fans.<br>Aunt Muriel and family moved to Adelaide and around the time of the 40th anniversary of the Beatles Australian tour there was a lot of Beatle interviews and the like.<br>In one interview with Paul talking about George joining the band Paul said he got John to audition George on top of a double decker bus!<br>So me Auntie M was the very first person to hear John, Paul and George play together.<br>On a side note cousins Lindy and Doug became good friends with the lads however Doug hated John Lennon - called him a “real scouser!”<br>When The Beatles toured Australia Lindy and a friend managed to talk their way past hotel security and spend time chatting with mainly Paul.<br>Lindy, still with a strong Liverpool accent, was confronted by security and stated “Tell them it’s Lindy from Liverpool”, security guard &nbsp;put his head in a door and repeated “It’s Lindy from Liverpool to see you”<br>“Let her in!”<br>Lindy and Paul ended up having a long chat, George was in another room playing his guitar and John was doing his best to talk Lindy’s friend to go with him in a separate room with him which she resisted.

  It’s 2026. The Rolling Stones have a new album out. Paul McCartney plays bass on one of the tracks. Paul McCartney also has a new album out. Ringo had a new album out a few weeks back.<br>I doubt they would have believed this over 60 years ago..

  I&apos;m 83 years old also. so I can relate to a lot of the things Paul talks about in relation to the war, the start of Rock and Roll, and the music, like him I&apos;ve been privileged to see the birth of it all. the musicians. the groups etc. But am still fascinated at how still humble he is and down to earth. Its comforting to see that he remains. that way and can still enjoy life in that mindset. That his head has not gotten to big for his body per his fame etc. Thank you Sir Paul for that and all that you have given my?our generation and the world .God Speed. ECF
