I'm glad men are able to cry. I'm glad there is recognition of PTSD. It's healthy.

I was a volunteer firefighter for years and have seen the worst including dead people. I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2017 and I to this day present relive at times images and scenes like it happened yesterday. Get help my fellow brothers and get it off your chest and cry if you have to, because it doesn't make you any less a human being than you truly are. God bless all!! 👍 🙏

Gave CPR to a unborn child, saw father and daughter burn alive in front of me, and was unable to save a 3 year old from choking. Guess thats my 3. 100 left unsaid.

Here I sit here at 4 in the morning been up a couple hours. Woke up after the same old dream. I rode in the ambulance to help the medic several years ago doing chest compressions on a construction worker whose heart had stopped from simply getting over heated. The guys at the department got confused on who was supposed to pick me up. I had left my radio and cell phone in the rescue truck. I hadn't wanted to fumble around with that crap in that moment. So I was stuck in the waiting room wondering when I was going to be picked up. I was standing there when I seen a mother and two young teenage daughters rushing in to the ER waiting room. When the doctor stepped from the back and said he was sorry. All three members of that man's families eyes were locked onto me. When they heard the news daddy was never coming home again. I still feel the pain in their eyes. I was looking for a place to go hide but there wasn't anyplace. When I finally begged to borrow a phone in the ER the staff acted like it was sin to let me use their landline to find someone to come get me. Then I made it back to the station mad because they had left me behind in confusion. No one had double checked to see who was going to get me at the time we were all volunteer and had went home. They had even called my wife and told her I was at the ER had rode in to help with a patient. The chief and I had a huge argument about not being accountable for leaving a man stranded. He told me to quit if I didn't want to do the job. Never took responsibility or apologized to me. Didn't bother asking why I was so upset and when I told him he blew it off. In my mind I replay that day over and over, Along with playing that families last time together. Not imagining that would be the last time they would see their husband and daddy. Of all the things I have seen gore and inhumanity over the all these years as dumb as it sounds. That is the one main call that still wakes me up at few nights every week.
