  I was on the fence about sharing this reaction. I didn't expect Schism to cut that deep. I hesitated to let the internet see me vulnerable like that but hiding this moment would be doing a disservice to how monumental this track is. Tool is terrifyingly good at tapping into every side of you. I'm sorry for the tears.

  The entirety of the time signature is in 12/8, but is a measure of 5 and a measure of 7, an uneven split. A literal schism.

  I recently lived this song with my wife. We both have been going thru recent hardships and our marriage has suffered.. we just stopped saying what we wanted, or even cared. Which made things worse.. It finally took a long talk of tears and pain and more tears and finally some healing and the realization we don't want to lose each other. Poor communication is truly the killer of a relationship
