  Smoked for 32 years. 70 days smoke free. They smell horrible now. Can't stand the smell of cigarettes anymore.

  I smoked from age 15 to 54 then stopped when I got flu. Im now pushing 80 and so glad I stopped

  My Mother smoked 4 packs a day, when I asked her if I could taste them she said come back when you are 6. I did she said I don't want two puffs, you smoke it all the way down. I got so sick 🤢 she told me to never touch a cigarette again. I didn't, mom finally quit in 1973 but had COPD for the rest of her life. Thank you Mom.

  4 years now i quit my 60 cigarette a day habit. It was difficult but I'm glad i did it.

  Both my parents were really heavy smokers, but I absolutely hated it. Our living room walls were orange with nicotine and all my clothes and hair smelled of it when I went to school. There were full ashtrays in their bedroom - one ashtray on each side - was the most horrible. All of this gave me childhood asthma and constant chest infections. So I vowed never to smoke - and here I am at 74, having never even tried one cigarette. My mum died of a stroke at 58 and my dad of lung cancer at 68.

  A friend of mine, a very heavy smoker, was in her early 40s. In late July of 2024, she came over and told me she thought something might be wrong with her gallbladder. She went to the ER on August 1st, 2024. She died of lung cancer, which spread to her liver and brain, and pretty much everywhere in her body by August 17th, 2024. She went from not even knowing she had it to dead in less than 3 weeks.

  It’s been 12.5 years since I quit. 45 years I smoked. With alcohol on the side. Ugh.

  I was born in 1951 and as I was growing up as a child a lot of adults smoked cigarettes. My grandparents on my mother's side of the family were both cigarette smokers. My grandmother died from a stroke and my grandfather died from lung cancer. Also I am old enough to remember cigarette brands being advertised on television. These included the Marlboro man and I would walk a mile for a Camel.
