  This is transcribed for those who can&apos;t understand Alex&apos;s slurred speech.<br><br>Interviewer: Hello Alex Turner<br>Alex: Alright mate<br>I: Congratulations on your Q awards<br>A: Thank you very much <br>I: Which one are you happiest with?<br>A: What did we get – 2? Well the DVD wasn’t really anything to do with us; it was all like raw film, so probably the album.<br>I: The album’s kind of important innit...and um, why did you choose to turn up tonight, rather than dressing up as the village people?<br>A: Why did i what? <br>I: Why did you choose to turn up tonight, rather than dressing up as the village people?<br>A: You know, we were gonna turn up and dress up as the village people, but Cookie (Jamie Cook) bottled it. I texted him the other night saying &quot;do you wanna do the costumes for the NME thing?&quot; and he’s like &quot;nah i wanna wear me new cardi[gan].&quot; Like, so.<br>I: Who have you met tonight who’s been fun? Have you made any friends?<br>A: I beg your pardon<br>I: Have you made any new friends?<br>A: I haven’t really. Who have i spoke to? Not really. I spoke to one of the Horrors before, and i quite liked their tunes that i’ve heard. He was dead nice. &nbsp;I think it was the drummer, but i don’t know. But he, uh, he was apologising because we went to watch them the other week, and they didn’t turn up, like they didn’t play, they cancelled...he was ill or something. So, um, i met him and he were apologetic and very nice. They were sound. No one really, that’s it. Sarah [Harding] and Nicola [Roberts] [of] Girls Aloud. <br>I: Did you meet them? Did you say hello?<br>A: Oh yeah.<br>I: What did you talk to Sarah about?<br>A: Well Sarah and [Matt] Helders are gonna do a collaboration. We’re gonna book some studio time tomorrow. We’re thinking maybe Saw Mills.<br>I: What about Eurythmics sort of vibe?<br>A: ‘ey?<br>I: What about Eurythmics sort of vibe? <br>A: I beg your pardon<br>I: A Eurythmics sort of vibe?<br>A: I don’t know what it’s gonna be. I think it’s gonna be a bit electronic, between me and you. But, yeah, no. I think they’d be a good combo, can you imagine? They’d have good single covers. Like Helders and Sarah, Helders with his hair cut...they’d be good you know. He’d have like a white shirt on, with maybe like a pencil tie. Probably not a tie actually. Just a white shirt. They could have a good look.<br>I: Oh, do you reckon? And um, finally, well obviously your new album is out soon, ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’. No one’s heard it yet. What can you tell us about your new album?<br>A: Erm...If you play it backwards, there’s messages, like. Ah, there isn’t even though. I don’t know.<br>I: If you could put in messages on your album backwards, what would they be? <br>A: Play what? It is played backwards. We recorded our album and then we played it backwards, and that’s what it sounded like, so we put it out backwards instead.<br>I: Very good. <br>A: I don’t know. I can’t really hear. I don’t even really know what you’re asking. <br>I: If you could just give the viewers a quick...’Brianstorm’, your new single...tell us a bit about Brian.<br>A: Brian, i dunno, i can’t remember Brian now, i think he, um, i don’t know if he were in me imagination or what, or in everyone’s imagination, or if he were real. I don’t know. It’s a blank spot in me brain, like. <br>I: And where are you going tonight?<br>A: [We will] see what happens. We’ve got like Steven...me mates from the video n’ that.
